The KDE Frameworks is a really big collection of libraries and frameworks built on top of the Qt libraries. It provides applications using it with a whole lot of functionality such has hardware integration and support, graphical elements for user interfaces, spell checking, a fully featured editor, support for numerous file formats, remote file access and a lot more.

The KDE Plasma desktop environment and a wide range of KDE applications are built on top of it.
