I am not a health expert. I do not speak the languages of all the "expert" around the world, but I can understand what our local "experts" are telling us. Our countries handling of the SARS-COV-2 "crisis" and the results will give you an indication of how what the expert in this countries are saying differs from what "experts" in many countries claim:

  • We did not have any lockdown or similar measures. Gathering of group with more than 50 people are forbidden, that is the extent of how life has differed during the entire "crisis"
  • Facemasks are NOT mandatory and no local health expert is advocating wearing them to prevent the spread of SARS-COV-2 or anything else

The results of these policies will shock and amaze many people in countries where they implemented draconian measures, locked people in their homes, mandate wearing facemasks, even at home, and similar:

  • We had a low but measurable increase in monthly deaths, compared to a 5 year average, in April and May. Not huge, but it was a tragic loss of life, mostly at nursing homes.
  • We had a below 5 year average deathrate in June and July.

I believe the lack of serious measures combined with the actual measurable results is why our local health officials are willing to very clearly say that the the coronavirus scare was nothing more than a media scare blown way out of proportion.

I am aware of the constant stream of fear-mongering propaganda in countries where they a) had a lockdown and b) are trying to force people to wear face-masks, even in their own homes and c) have made this into a huge political issue even though it is a health issue. Their is a fair change that I would have fallen for it if I was in such a country. I'm not, I am in a country where the government is not trying to defend a unnecessary lockdown, since we did not have one, and they are not trying to spin propaganda in order to force silly rules like mandatory facemasks on people, because we have no such mandate. The simple fact that we had no serious measures yet we had fever deaths this month than we had, on average, the last five years is why I can casually make fun of those who think this coronavirus scare is a big deal. I am, by this point, a bit too comfortable with laughing at those who still believe it is some kind of serious threat. I will make an effort to remember that there are a lot of people in countries where the governments are still trying tp pretend there way any logical or rational reason to implement lockdowns and other draconian measures. --Chaekyung (talk) 11:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
