I tried Alacritty but it is neither faster nor better than KDE Konsole.

There is a large number of Terminal-emulators, but you need only one, which should be KDE Konsole. Alacritty is very minimal and has no bookmarks and no nothing.

in Termite, press 3 keys

"ctrl-shift-up" in order to "scroll up a line"

instead of simply the arrow-key (1 key instead of three) is being used and you have memorize dozens of such combinations. Small wonder that Termite is now dead. Good Riddance. just a redundant app.

I guess I should look at Alacritty more closely. When I quickly tried it I was given a plain old terminal like Aterm or rxvt or xterm or something else from 20 years ago. KDE's konsole, qterminal and everything else have menus where you can configure the terminal, tabs and so on. Alacritty seems like a .. step backwards, though perhaps people want their "simplicity" or something. --Yuri (talk) 01:29, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

It really is odd that the Termite developer offering an xterm-knockoff hard to work with then actually suggests another knock-off that is no easier to work with. Quite odd. anonymous (928e5d2955) 10:01, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
