Microsoft used several dirty tricks to make Internet Explorer poplar. As as example, they prevented users from using it to download the competing Mozilla Firefox web browser for quite some time.

Microsoft has replaced Internet Explorer with a web browser called "Edge". It is no longer maintained and no longer available as a Microsoft product.
