This is a list of IPv6 ready IRC servers. You need to have IPv6 and a IPv6 ready IRC client to use these servers.
IPv6 is great for shell providers and BNC users (irc bouncers ZNC) because a single /64 prefix gives you a "unlimited" vhosts. Many stupid irc servers k-line (kick & ban) you for merely using idiosyncratic DNS, such as corona.is.a.big.fake.net Some stupid servers only allow one connection from each IP, and some servers limit the number of connections from a /64. If you have a /48 then you should divide 10-20 IPs on seperate /64s, having 1000 shell users all using irc on the same /64s is a bad idea. If you encounter such a stupid IRC server, quit and use a better one exclusively, so stupid IRC servers will go extinct.

(The hostnames previous given to specific servers, i.e. plasma.oftc.net, have been removed by the OFTC corporate and you now have to choose server by IP or use irc6.oftc.net and connect to a random server)

RedeBrasilIRC[edit]
RedeBrailIRC (irc.redebrasilirc.org) was a interesting IRC network with IPv6 support through freenet6.net which mysteriously disappeared sometime late 2006. Where oh where did this IRC network go? Nobody but nobody is talking. The domains has expired, it is now free, you can go grab it and start the most subversice IRC service for Brasil you can - and from that it follows that all services that were connected to it are gone forever. No IPv4 IRC service, no IPv6 IRC service, no website, no nothing, it's just gone.
[The network has been closed due some problems with the IRC Operators that were being unfriendly with the users.]

StarByte[edit]
StarByte (www.starbyte.net) was another IPv6-ready IRC network who eventually bit the dust. The domain is still valid, and will be until 01-aug-2007, but starbyte.net returns A recond 0.0.0.0, no AAAA record, the IRC servers it used to point to are gone, and the IRC network StarByte is falling rapidly down the memory hole.
HybNet (hybnet.net) was a small IRC network which was run by a group of Norwegian geeks. The domain is now sedoparked at a one of those advertisement-only landing pages, and the IRC servers are dead.
