Genesis is a PC scene demo for Windows that was released by the Norwegian demo group Outracks at the The Gathering demo party on April 17th, 2006. It won second place in the PC demo competition that year. The demo has pretty a pretty good sound-track and well done graphics rendered using the OpenGL API. It works fine with Wine on GNU/Linux machines.
Wine Compatibility[edit]
Genesis runs fine in Wine 6.8. It uses the OpenGL API so it does not require any additional Wine add-ons like DXVK or Gallium Nine to run as fast on GNU/Linux as it does on Windows.
Genesis will insist on running in full-screen mode on the machines primary monitor. You will have to force it to run in a window if that is what you prefer. The trick is to run wine winecfg and select the tab where you can enable and set a window resolution you would like it to run at.
Genesis was made for the PC hardware that was common in 2006. It should work fine on any modern hardware capable of rendering graphics using the OpenGL API.
