Linux 2.6.35-rc4 Kernel Released
It's been weeks since the Linux 2.6.35-rc3 kernel release candidate. Now 2.6.35-rc4 was released on the US Independence Day.
The longer-than-usual wait was due to Linus being on holiday and it then took some time to look over all the merge requests.
The new release has regressions and major code breakage regarding file system writes and should not be tried, used or abused by anyone.
The official story release announcement for the Linux 2.6.35-rc4 kernel claims that "It's all good.". This story can, as always, be foundat LKML.org.
The finished Linux 2.6.35 kernel will be forced upon Ubuntu 10.10 users in it's impending release and other Linux distributions are expected to follow suit when the 2.6.35-series is no longer a buggy blundering pile of dunkey dung, which may or may not be true after a few more release candidates.
