KDE 3.4.2 Released

KDE 3.4.2 is another bug-fix for KDE which makes the production version of the most modern Linux desktop even more stable and suitable for corporate use.

The release came a few days after the release of KOffice 1.4.1, a new big-fix release of the light-weight KDE office suite which aims to become a realistic alternative to the more advanced commercial solutions within a few years. KDE 3.4.2 only closes one security problem with libgadu in KDE 3.4.1, so there is no security reason to upgrade immediately, but a whole lot of bugs are fixed and closed in this new, polished version.

Try it without installing

You can try KDE 3.4.2 without installing anything on your computer by using The Klax KDE 3.4.2 Live-CD. This is a CD with KDE and a basic GNU/Linux system which you can use to boot your computer and try KDE 3.4.2 without touching your normal day-to-day installation.

KDE 3.4.2 is now available for:

  • Arch Linux
  • Conectiva Linux
  • Fedora Core 4
  • Gentoo
  • Kubuntu
  • Mandriva Linux
  • Slackware
  • SuSE Linux
