Linux 2.6.11.9 available

A specially created ELF binary can be used by a local attacker to obtain root access on all Linux kernels from 2.2 through 2.6.11.8 and 2.6.12-rc4.

Version 2.6.11.9 is now available from kernel.org and includes a fix for this issue. The details of CAN-2005-1263 is not yet publicly available, but it is clear that users must already have access to the system in order to gain root access.
